Spam Oreos

One of our favorite things to do is create food content.  Each of us have a background in cooking.  My first Food video on Cooking Vines hit POPULAR NOW.  “Breakfast Spam Musubi” went viral getting over a million views and has been copied by several Japanese cooking shows.

I decided it was time to create a food themed Facebook page and Hawaii Food Porn was born.  I knew I needed something to get attention to the new page so I decided to do something silly.  And SPAM OREOS was born.

I was not trying to pass it off as real, in fact it says Hawaii Food Porn on the package! I had no idea it was going to go crazy, prompting both Spam and Nabisco to have to release statements and SNOPES to debunk it.

It was also featured on WRECKLESS EATING (see video below).

But it did what I wanted it to do and gave me a quick 3000 followers to get the ball rolling on the page.
